7 Essential Things Mama/Dada will need in the first few months of motherhood


1. Nursing bras (if you are planning on breastfeeding)

2.  Comfy Pajamas. You are going to live in these

3. Support. This can be from your family, spouse or friends. And do not be afraid to ask for help

4. Food and water- Healthy balanced food. Yes this seems like a duh! But, it takes a lot of adjusting to your new role. You immerse yourself in your new baby, and you forget to take care of yourself

5. A lot of sleep. Some of you might think; What sleep? You need to sleep in order to function, and sleep becomes even more important at this time. Sleep when your baby is sleeping. Do not worry about a million other things you could be doing like dishes or laundry

6. Help! Accept help and do not be angry at people who do not help. Some don’t actually get it, and that is okay

7. Retail Therapy. Bundle that baby up and go to Target or Walmart or Dollar tree. Get yourself something cute. It will also give you time to get out of the house to get some fresh air. You both need fresh air
